About Kim: Kim is a 13 year law enforcement officer. She has worked in various assignments on the job but her passion has always been helping victims of domestic violence. In 2009, Kim became involved in a domestic violence relationship. In the beginning of the relationship she was in denial as it began as verbal and emotional abuse. Over time her abuser began to become violent. One evening in 2010 when her boyfriend struck her several times and left injuries, Kim realized that she herself had become a victim of domestic violence. Her police officer instincts rose to the surface and she knew what she had to do. She stopped the abuse by filing a police report and seeking justice. It took approximately 7 months before her abuser finally pled guilty. Feeling relieved and free, Kim was able to move on with her life. In May of 2012 she transferred out of her current assignment and moved to a different station where she met Alina.
About Alina: Alina is a 14 year law enforcement officer. In 2005, Alina began working in a specialized unit assigned to Human Trafficking. During that time she met her husband, also a police officer and they married in 2011. In 2012, Alina and her husband discovered they were going to be first time parents. Now you would think this would be a happy time for a young couple, but even before they married their relationship was on the rocks. Her husband was emotionally abusive. He caused stress and strain on their relationship and her work life due to his insecurities and jealousy. It reached a level that she felt she had to leave her current assignment in the specialized unit and move to a desk job. In February of 2012, Alina transferred to the same station that Kim had transferred to.
"Alina and I believe that we were meant to cross paths and become business partners. Our lives were directed towards each other, and in 2013 we began our for-profit company Pizzscotti (baked goods). In 2015, Recipe For Hope was created because of our passion for giving back to the community. Together we are a force to be reckoned with!"
